Grantville Public Library Display

Check out the display I did at the Grantville Public Library (Coweta Co., GA). I had to include pictures of my Great-Great Grandparents, of course...James Madison Turner, born abt. 1823 and Judia Rose Wortham Turner, born abt. 1826.

Friends of Brown's Mill Battlefield Forming

A new group, Friends of Brown's Mill Battlefield, is forming in Coweta County, GA.  The group would support the park being developed at the site of the Civil War battle just south of Newnan.

The first meeting of this new group will be help on Sunday, February 20th, at 2pm in the cafeteria at Central Education Center (CEC) on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Newnan.

All potential Friends of the Battlefield are invited to attend the meeting where a new board will be elected and everyone will be brought up to date on progress of the park project.

Grand Opening of the Nash Farm Battlefield Museum




Last Saturday (2-12-2011) I was invited to attend the grand opening of the Nash Farm Battlefield Museum in Henry Co., GA.  It turned out to be a perfect day for this event.  Nash Farm Battlefield is located at 100 Babbs Mill Road, Hampton, GA.  For more information on this historic landmark please visit www.henrycountybattlefield.com .
